A day beside the seaside is a great day out whatever age you are.
Many of us have vivid childhood memories of trips to the coast, from old fishing villages and bustling ports, to deck chairs and long piers, oh and of course let's not forget tucking into a fish and chip lunch.
The south east of England is home to many beaches from traditional seaside resorts such as Eastbourne and Margate, to the golden sands at Bournemouth and the hidden treasure that is West Wittering.
So, in no particular order, we have put together a list of some of our favourite beaches you can easily reach within Surrey and north-east Hampshire.
Visiting The Look Out is a great day out, with the main attraction being the hands-on science exhibition which has over 90 hands-on activities. We also have a gift shop and adventure play area. Please feel free to phone the centre before you visit to find out if we have a busy day with school groups. Generally the quietest time in term time is from 2 to 5pm.
